What are MCP Servers?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI assistants(Clients) like WaveyBoy to securely connect and interact with your different applications and data sources. WaveyBoy supports OAuth built-in, so you only need to provide an MCP server URL our client handles authentication and secure communication, granting WaveyBoy access to specific tools and data, and enabling it to perform tasks on your behalf within Slack. How to Get Started

  1. Click the "Add to Slack" button above to install WaveyBoy in your workspace.
  2. Once installed, use the WaveyBoy app interface in Slack to add the URL of your desired MCP server(s). WaveyBoy handles the authentication.
  3. (Optional) Configure your personal API key (e.g., for Claude) within the WaveyBoy app settings for enhanced capabilities.
  4. Start interacting! Mention WaveyBoy in channels or direct messages to collaborate with your AI agent and connected tools.
